2018 Youth Olympics:Ghana records first win

Team Ghana recorded its first victory at the ongoing summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires on Tuesday.

After a first day defeat to Hungary, Ghana’s Volleyball duo of Eric Tsatsu and Kelvin Carboo gave a positive response by beating Monaco 2-1 to sustain any hope of progressing to the next stage of the competition.

The All Africa Games silver winning medalists started the game on a high and won the first set by 21 games to 14.

The duo will be at it again on Thursday when they come face to face with tournament favorites Costa Rica .

Team Ghana can’t afford to put their foot off the gas ,knowing very well that a win will help them secure qualification to the next stage of the competition.

Team Ghana is yet to win a medal at the competition.

Now ranked second best on the African continent in beach volleyball, the duo have set a target of getting a podium finish at the Youth Olympic Games.
