Croatia beat England 2-1 to qualify for their first ever WC final

Croatia have made history as they have qualified for their first ever World Cup finals after a 2-1 win England.

Both teams knew what was at stake and had to go all out for the win.

England drew first blood of the game. Dele Alli was brought down on the edge of the Croatian penalty box which resulted in a free kick.

Tottenham right-back Keiran Trippier curled in a magnificent freekick to give England the lead in the 5th minute of the game.

Croatia three everything at the English but their defence were resolute to clear their lines.

Jesse Lingard should have added a second goal for England in the 36th minute but saw his
shot go wide.

The first half ended 1-0 in favour of the three lions.

Croatia were more hungrier for the equalizer in the second period and were finally levelled in the 68th minute.

Inter Milan forward Ivan Perisic rose above Walker to tap home a cross from Vrsaljko to make it 1-1.

Lots of chances fell in the path of Croatia but the game ended 1-1 and had to decided in extra time.

Croatia got the all-important second goal in the 109 minute of extra time.

Madzukic latched onto a stray pass in the England penalty area and calmly beat Pickford to make it 2-1 to Croatia.

The Croatian had to defend for the last part of the game and eventually saw the game out.

They have qualified for their first ever World Cup final and will face France in the final on Sunday, July 15 and England will play Belgium on Saturday, July 14 in the 3rd place game.
