Ras Mubarak who is the Member of Parliament, MP, for Kumbungu, is calling on the Inspector General of Police, David Asante-Apeatu to resign from his post over the Ayawaso by-election violence.

Mubarak says the IGP must resign because he has not been able to identify and arrest perpetrators of the violence at Bawaleshie.

For this, he believes the IGP must honourably vacate his post after a week of not been able to identify the masked men who are at the centre of the violence.

“Speaking of the Ghana Police Service, I think the IGP would do the honourable thing and tender his resignation because his continuous stay as IGP has become very untenable, especially in the light of conflicting reports between the police and National Security,” he said.

Ras Mubarak who was speaking on Citi FM,s Eyewitness News said the Minority are taking actions that will be in the interest of Ghanaians.

The IGP, the Minister in State of National Security have come under serious pressure from the Ghanaian populace as there has been a rise in crime in Ghana.

The Ayawaso violence has led to the President Akufo-Addo setting up a Commission of Inquiry to investigate the matter.
