The La Beach Resort has temporarily been closed down today by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Agency, (EPA).
The closure comes after the two Authorities embarked on a special decongestion exercise to curb filt along the various beaches in the country. The closure takes effect from today as restaurants and bars have been asked to close down. Authorities from GTA and EPA indicated that the resort is in a deplorable state and not suitable to serve the public.
Management of the resort however, is pleading with GPA to resend the decision while they take measurements towards the general maintenance of the resort. In the Meantime, the Ghana Tourism Authority has called management of the La Pleasure Beach for a meeting on resolution tomorrow.
